School and City Elections are combined and held in November of odd-numbered years. A City election is used to elect the Mayor and Council Members and any other elected city officials. A School Election is an election to select School Board members within the district.
Voter Pre-Registration Deadline and last day to have an Absentee Ballot mailed - Monday, October 20
Last day to vote an absentee ballot - Monday, November 3
Election Day - Tuesday, November 4
Recount Request Deadline - Thursday, November 13
Extended hours in addition to regular hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., extended office hours will be as follows:
Thursday, September 18 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, September 23 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, October 6 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, October 20 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, October 31 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday, November 4 - Election Day Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday, November 13 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voter Registration
Pre-Registrationdeadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20. Persons wishing to participate in this election who register to vote after October 20 will be required to provide proof of identification (i.e. current and valid photo identification card with an expiration date), AND proof of residency in their voting precinct, when they go to the polls on election day, or when they request an absentee ballot in-person. Other provisions may also apply. Persons not registered to vote by October 20 should expect a longer processing time at the polls on Election Day.
